Hey there!
I have this blank wall that only has battens.
I want to attach VJ boards, how do I do this?
I am new to DIY but keen to learn!
Thank you!
Hi @emmajae
Sorry for the delay in helping you xmas project rush lol
I would use these Plaster board Screws and cordless driver with a no 2 phillips screw driver tip. There maybe better screws avaliable.
Mark on the floor and roof where the start of the middle of the battens are so once the VJ board is up you can see from the external marks where the batton runs. so you can screw into the battons with out too much fuss. Between the two batton centre line marks drawn put in two screws and use astring line as a fixing gude. If the Vj board trysto crack best to pre drill the screw holes.
Hope this helps
Have a Great New year.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I am also wondering what should I use to cut the vj boards? I need to go around a door.
Thank you, I will read this 🙂
Hi @emmajae,
You should use a circular saw if your cuts will be exposed, or if you're using trim to cover the cuts, then you'll be able to use a jigsaw. It's harder to get a nice smooth cut with a jigsaw, so I'd only use one if you are adding trim over the cut to conceal it.
