Water entering under sliding doors - help!

Hi all- after some heavy, sideways rain, we noticed the carpet in front of these sliding doors was wet.

I sprayed the sliding doors from the outside with the hose and noticed water entered when I sprayed the bottom of the sliding door.

Inside the house, a timber panel sits between the bottom of the sliding door and the slab. The water is entering directly under the timber panel I.e. it doesn't appear to be entering directly under the door and the top of the timber panel is dry (blue section of second pic. Third picture shows the timber panel).

Any ideas what the issue could be and/or whether this is a DIY job or who i should contact (sliding door repairer, general handyman....?)

Re: Water entering under sliding doors - help!

Hello @warneyB

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your sliding doors.

I'm afraid this is more than just a plugged-up overflow channel in the rail of the door. In this particular instance, I suggest engaging the services of a professional aluminium door installer. If water is entering the bottom of the door assembly, it is either bridging through the aluminium frame down to the concrete or there is a fault along the stone assembly in front of your doors. Either way you'll need a trades person to fix this properly.

If you need further assistance, lease let us know.

Eric
