We have always loved the look of a nook and fortunately our 90's style sunroom had the perfect window placement allowing for the nook to be built out over the deck area. We designed the nook to match the existing look of the house, moving the window out also giving the impression of a more open sunroom. The nook was designed to include louvre windows at each end to make the most of the sunshine, the breeze and the view over a golf course.
Paint, plywood, 70 x 35 pine studs, 100 x 50 hardwood studs, 100 x 100 hardwood posts, louvre windows, redesigned original window, hardwood decking, stone pavers, decking screws, pine for shelving, western red cedar trim, aluminium flat bar trim.
Ryobi drop saw
Ozito drill
Ryobi 100mm grinder
Ryobi random orbital sander
Removed existing window. Positioned posts and framed up the new window position, louvres, bed and shelving.
Redesigned existing window and along with side louvres, installed them into the frame.
Finished off the bed base and side timber shelving, installed inside and outside cladding and painted and oiled the timber.
Finishing touches with coloured patterned tiles, and glass wall shelving.
