Kind of a Big Deal

Printer table

I have recently purchased a new printer, so I needed a printer table, this is the result, made from solid Tasmanian Oak timber.

i first made the carcass for the drawer and also made the drawer to fit, then I made the leg/base frame to suit, the final part made was the table top. Finished in satin water based varnish.

Materials

Tasmanian Oak timber

19mm x 135mm

19mm x 35mm

42mm x 42mm

12mm x 110mm.

6mm Dominoes

Wood glue

Water based varnish.

Paintbrush

Sandpaper various, 80, 120,240, 400 grit

Tools

Mitre saw

Table saw

Rooter table

Mortising horizontal router table

Power drill, drill bits

Steps

Step 1

Make up carcass and drawer, I like using box joints for joint the timber, I think it’s a strong joint and easy to make.

Re: Printer table

What a stunning table you've put together, @JoeAzza. Every time I see your work, my brain has difficulty recognising that it is hand-constructed from solid timber; that's how good your joinery is. If I didn't know better, I would 100% say that it's machine-constructed laminated chipboard. It's so seldom that you see this quality of work these days.

Wonderful work, as always, and many thanks for sharing.

Mitchell
