Hi, I am planning to build a nib wall on the back wall of our bedroom. Currently the room is carpeted, what do I do with the carpet? I plan to remove the architrave and reattach this to the nib wall.
Do I just build on top of it or do I pull it up, pull up the tacking strips and then cut it to size? Is relaying the carpet a DIY or should I get someone in to do it?
thanks!
Hi @mgbhs,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Nothing is stopping you from building your nib wall over the carpet and there's really no benefit in removing it to accommodate the wall.
Adding the skirting back at the base of your nib wall will help blend the carpet in so you attain a seamless finish.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
