Looking to replicate a shelf

Hi Team

I've just moved into a new property and this is my linen closest which I'm disappointed with since its 1 shelf. I'm wanting to replicate this. Hoping someone can point me to the correct wood materials to use.

My other main issue is the house uses bluescope steal and I want to add a few things to the walls but I'm finding it incredible hard to know what I should be using. Do i need wall plugs or just metal screws? I know for larger objects such as TV mounts I need those special wall anchors.

Help would be appreciated

Re: Looking to replicate a shelf

Hi @Barnzey,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

If you can tell me the dimensions where I have added arrows below, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

I suspect they have used something like this 92 x 18mm 5.4m Moulding White Pine for the cleats and 16mm White Particleboard for the shelf.

For steel framing, you can use metal screws like these Zenith 10G x 50mm Galvanised Countersunk Head Metal Screws to attach things to the studs.

When mounting heavy things, like a TV to steel frames, you should confirm a suitable method with the manufacturer of the mounting bracket and the producer of the steel framing. It is usually not as simple as using a wall anchor, and without a sufficient method, you risk twisting and damaging the steel framing.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob

Hi Mate

The links you provided are very close so I will likely go ahead with those purchases.

The dimensions were around 16mm x 95mm.
