Kids furniture upcycled with chalk paint

Someone had discarded this solid wood kids table & chairs. It was varnished wood that was quite orange in colour. A light sanding was done all over. Painted the legs & sides white. Then did a light “whitewash” over the tops.
Now it  looks fresh & delightful 💕

Materials

Dulux Chalk effect paint

Tools

Ryobi sander and sandpaper replacement pads

Steps

Step 1

Scuffed the sides & legs of table & chairs with Ryobi sander. Used a heavier sandpaper on the tops to really remove any existing varnish.

painted chalk paint on legs & sides

Diluted some of the paint with water (whitewash effect) & painted the tops of the table & chairs

They've come up beautifully. It is truly incredible how much difference some sanding and a coat of paint can do.

Thank you for sharing this fantastic upcycling project that I'm sure your family will enjoy for years to come.
