Is Danish oil suitable for a chair?

I have a rimu pew that I have sanded down. I am thinking of using briwax danish oil. Is that ok on a chair. Are there any issues with wear and tear? Thanks

Re: danish oil on chair

Hello @motu

I am unfamiliar with the Bri wax Danish oil. However, the store does carry the Cabot's 500ml Clear Danish Oil. It is a penetrating, abrasion resistant oil ideal for reviving tired wood on all interior furniture, doors, windows and trim. It settles gently into the timber, providing a protective natural matt finish whilst allowing the natural grain of the wood to show through. Suitable for use on all interior timber, excluding flooring.

My best advice is to test a small section of your furniture away from direct observation. If you are happy with the results and finish, you can then commit the rest of the furniture.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

So it is fine to sit on without damage and is hard wearing?

Hello @motu

Yes, you can sit on cured Danish oil because it's safe and durable.
