I don’t have any photos but the split is a fine line
Hello @RS1
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It' sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your faux couch.
Can you please give us little bit more detail about your faux couch? Is the material faux leather or another form of synthetic cover. Is the split totally open and you can pull the material apart or is just the surface leather that has split up?
I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How to repair a rip in leather lounge? by @2restore. Generally, when there is a rip in the leather a leather strip is placed inside between the rip, leather contact adhesive is used, and the two sides are joined together. Custom leather fillers are used to cover the split on the leather surface.
However, if you are only looking at extending the life of the couch and having it reupholstered in the future, I propose looking at using Gorilla 48mm x 9m Black Cloth Tape to cover the split.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
