How to reduce the height of furniture legs?

Hi! We are hoping to change the legs on our couch as we find it's too high for us. Our first thought was to ask someone to just cut it off to the right height for us but we're not sure who to contact or where to even ask. The 2nd option was to purchase but we are having a hard time finding similar legs that have the same plates with 3 holes in it. Can someone please suggest any ideas. We would appreciate it! Thank you!!

Re: Furniture legs

Hello @JezzArguelles

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your furniture legs.

The legs appear to be made of timber. If they are, you can either cut them with a handsaw or a circular saw if you have access to it. If you've had experience using a circular saw it will provide a cleaner cut. However, a handsaw will provide you with total control of the cut.

I suggest using an Empire 180mm Laser Etcher Rafter Square – True Blue to mark the section you'll be cutting off.

Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves and goggles while working on your project.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
