Hi,
We've recently replaced our window sills to MDF and I'm looking to get some guidance for preparing the surfaces. The side edges of the MDF are a bit rougher than the face surface so want to make sure I prepare them properly so the surfaces are uniform before I paint them. Any help would be great on steps and best products to use? Thanks!
Hi @Emmzee,
You might like to fill and then sand the ends of the MDF to reduce their roughness. That will ensure a consistent finish. Next, apply a quality undercoat like Dulux 1-step. After it has dried, you can move on to your topcoat. For a superior finish, use a quality brush or a short nap roller.
Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to paint window frames.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
