How to hang large poster frames on plasterboard walls?

Okay, I admit defeat! I wanted to try and do this myself but I’ve had to resort finally to some help from you legends and swallow my pride! Hahah!

I have two large poster frames around 5-10kg and I want to hang them side by side above our bed. It’s plasterboard and I don’t have a stud finder, so it’s extra hard to secure things! I bought the hangman canvas hangers, and tried using wall plugs with them too but the wall plugs just keep falling into the wall when I put screws in!

What is the best way for me to do this?

Re: How to hang large poster frames in plasterboard

Hello @SarahK1996

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble hanging your poster frames. But I think it's important to remember that you gave it a try. I suggest using the Ramset 8 x 64mm Zinc Alloy Toggle With Screw. These have a drop-down toggle and in combination with the screw will provide a secure hold onto your plasterboard wall. These wall toggles can be purchased in a larger quantity.

Here is handy step-by-step guide: How to hang just about anything by @Adam_W.

Thanks so much Eric! I’ll definitely go and grab those!

What are your thoughts on the

3M Claw Hangers?

Could those work instead of drilling?

Re: How to hang large poster frames in plasterboard

Hi @SarahK1996

I would probably use the super strong one like the 3M Claw Picture Hanger 30kg, just to make sure that it will not fall out. It will save you from drilling multiple holes in your wall.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Okay awesome! I might try those first then before putting more holes in the wall! :')

Thanks so much Eric!
