Hi have hybrid floor that has a soft spot about 500mm square sounds hollow when you tap it and moves when you walk on it is there a way to fill this in or pack it to stop it?
Hi @terryharris,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
A soft spot in your flooring indicates a cavity beneath the flooring.
Has this spot always been soft and sound hollow or has this happened recently?
Were you aware of what sits beneath the hybrid flooring? Is it a concrete subfloor, or a timber panel floor?
If the floor is concrete, the fix will involve removing the hybrid flooring, pouring a self-levelling compound such as Lanko 173 Floor Leveller, allowing it to dry and then relaying the flooring.
If the subfloor is timber, then you may have an issue with timber rot or termites that would need to be addressed.
Do you have access to the underside of the floor to inspect the timber beams?
If you do, uploading some images of the floor framing would certainly help in diagnosing and offering advice on how best to fix this issue.
Let me know what you think and please don't hesitate to ask further questions, I'd be more than happy to help further.
