How to fix loose curtain hook in wall?

Hi, the hook keeps coming loose in wall, it is in with wall plug and screw.  Since fixed with silicon.  Still loose. What next please?

Can you please tell me if you have a plasterboard wall or a brick/masonry wall. If you have a plasterboard wall, I suggest removing the screws and plugs out of your wall and replacing it with Ramset M6 x 13mm Hollow Wall Anchor - 4 Pack. But if you have a brick/masonry wall, I suggest using Ramset 6 x 38mm Universal Anchor. Both anchor sets will provide adequate holding power for your curtain rail.

Many thanks Eric, I will do as you suggest.  Will let you know how it goes once it is done.  The wall is flimsy plasterboard, that is why this problem persists.

If that section of your wall has become too flimsy, it might be necessary to transfer the position of the curtain rod holder. If you do need to transfer it, please make sure to drill pilot holes in the wall before you use any of the fittings recommended.

That is very close to what you will need, unfortunately the top section of it is too long. You're after a similar hollow wall anchor that has a top section that is around 13mm in length. This is because it's made to work with a plasterboard wall. The anchor you currently have is designed to work with a tiled wall with a plasterboard panel beneath it.

You just need to relocate both end brackets next to the window frame as there will be timbers there and just use wood screws. Then the brackets will be rock solid. There will be a grub screw behind the bracket thats holding the rod in place. Once loosened the rod can be removed and repositioned.

If you prefer keeping the brackets further out, then those wall anchors are exactly the right ones to use that @EricL suggested. But there are many that look the same that aren't suitable for 10mm plasterboard. So this is the right pack, but you can get lesser qty ones too. Make a small hole through the plaster board by twisting a Phillips head screwdriver thats slightly smaller in diameter than the lower part of the fastener. Unless you have a drill of course. Only use a screwdriver to tighten the screw firmly. Then it can be removed to fit the bracket.

As @EricL mentioned, you will probably need to make fresh holes at least 40-50mm away to avoid breaking the plaster from the old holes.
