I am drilling into a metal stud and noticed I've made two dents. Should I keep going? The hole is 10mm for a 4.5mm screw (I am aware that is too big and will repair accordingly).
I made the mistake of putting in a wall plug so the hole was already too big. I will either fill or use toothpicks for that but I'm worried about the metal stud. Will this affect its structural integrity? Can I keep drilling? The drill bit also started wobbling which made me stop immediately.
Okay thank you, what's the minimum distance I could offset it by? Would 5mm be OK? Or should there be more distance?
It just needs not to hit the dent, which is likely thinned-out materials now, @fiorella. 5mm above or below would be fine.

Okay! Thank you so much for your time Mitchell, you've been a wonderful help 😊
Hi @fiorella
Just to add to the fantastic recommendations made, I also suggest having a look at the DETA 25 x 16mm x 4m Trunking to keep your modem cables nice and tidy. To attach it to your wall without drilling you can use Gorilla 1.5m Clear Mounting Tape.
