Hi,
I have a question about floor prep.
We have decide to install the hybrid floor in our bedrooms, so we removed the carpet in one of our bedrooms to check if the floor is even. However, we found adhesives on the cement floor ( please see the image below). We would like to just cover it up with self levelling compound. Room size is about 3 m x 3 m. What are your thought?
We are by the way DIY beginners
. Thank you
Hello @yourij
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your flooring.
It is possible to use self-levelling compound to cover the glue and imperfections of the floor. However, if some sections of the old glue are taller than the others it might show through the leveller. For a faster turnaround time, I suggest using an Ozito 800W Belt Sander BSR-7000 to sand away all the old adhesives. You can then just clean the area of dust and debris then lay the flooring without having to use self-levelling compound.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
