How do I clean rust marks off tiles that have had pot plants on them
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Shirley36-_. It's to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing rust stains from pavers.
Removing marks and stains from pavers can be difficult as they have a porous surface. Have you tried pressure washing the surface? If the staining hasn't penetrated too deep, this might be an effective way to remove them. If the stain has penetrated a significant distance into the paver, then you'll need to try some alternative removal methods.
Before moving on to stronger options, you mike like to try squeezing some lemon juice or applying vinegar to the stains. Wait 10mins and then try brushing away the stains with a stiff bristle nylon scrubbing brush. If you don't see any positive results, you can move on to something stronger. CLR Ready to Use 750ml Calcium Lime Rust Remover can be used on non-coloured pavers. This would be grey cement or concrete pavers. If you have coloured pavers, you will need to do a test section in an inconspicuous location to ensure the product does not dis-colour your pavers.
In most cases, reducing the noticeability of the stain might be the best result you can achieve, especially if these are lighter-coloured pavers. If you can find matching pavers, it would be worth considering replacing them. With the periodic application of paver sealer, you should be able to prevent this type of staining in the future.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
