Hello @bear_9200
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about building a toy box for your kids.
There have been a few discussions about toy boxes before. I suggest having a look at this one - What timber for a storage box / seat (toy box style) by @MichelleBeasy. This discussion has excellent suggestions regarding what materials to use for toy boxes. I recommend thinking about what this toy box will look like and how much space is it going to occupy.
Here are some excellent toy box discussions our Workshop members have shared:
I hope you find inspiration in the links I've shared.

Hi @bear_9200
I built a very large one on wheels with a handled hinged lid. Mostly scrap wood but the paneling (forget the name) is from Bunnings - glued and screwed.
The danger with my design is the lid is restricted backwards by chain - but forwards, you have to be careful of fingers when closing - especially little ones.
My wife thinks it ugly.
I think 'rustic.'
Please show us what you build.
Cheers and good luck!
