Can you cut a Specrite Merbau panel with a hand saw?

Hi

I was thinking of making a small side table with this panel. But I only need it half the length. I want to build something like this desk, but half the length and no drawers.

I don’t have any power cutting tools but I have a hand saw. It’s this Bahco saw

Is it possible to cut through such a panel with just a hand saw or will it be too difficult? And if I cut through it, how do I make sure the cut edge is straight? Will I need to sand it straight (I have an orbital sander).

Any store can do it, and typically, the first cut would be free @Jen_Andrew. However, there are a few stores that might not offer this service due to their size. You can phone the store to check before heading in or head to their page on the Bunnings website to check.
