what is the best way to fill a gap between ceilings and ranghood chimney?

Hi,

I just replace my rangehood with new one, however the new rangehood chimney is smaller than the old one, hence i have about 1-1.5cm gaps around it on the ceiling.

What is the best way to fill it?

Re: what is the best way to fill a gap between ceilings and ranghood chimney?

Hi @AdiSur,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

My suggestion is to use a Brutus 25 x 25 x 2.5mm x 2.4m Angle Building Moulding to cover the gap.

You can use Liquid Nails to attach the moulding to both the ceiling and vent. You may need to cut the cornice back by a bit so the moulding can sit flush on the plasterboard sheet.

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
