Suggested advoce on How to connect no thread tap to bench dishwasher

So am truly not a big DIYer or know lots when it comes to being a handyman person. I recently moved into an old style apartment building and the taps look as old as the building itself. I discovered the kitchen sink taps have no thread on them so I can’t move ahead with my wanting to get a portable dishwasher while I’m renting in this place. I’m hoping I could be sent in the right direct or given suggestion on how to proceed. Doing googling has only suggested replacing the taps or getting an adaptor for the tap so a hose could be connect. However I have no worldly idea what kind of adaptor I should be searching for not too mention not breaking the bank account while doing so. Hopefully my attached photo I took of my cold water tap in my kitchen sink can help with advice.

Re: Suggested advoce on How to connect no thread tap to bench dishwasher

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @smitchie. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting a dishwasher.

The only practical way to connect a portable dishwasher to your current setup would be to replace the taps with ones that have an aerator on the spout. These aerators, when unscrewed, provide a threaded connection point for adaptors. However, due to new plumbing regulations, there aren’t many fittings readily available to connect a dishwasher to a tap spout, and the ones that do exist often require several adaptors cobbled together to work.

An alternative option to consider is whether there’s enough space under your kitchen sink in the cupboard to fit the dishwasher. If so, it might be simpler to connect it directly to the plumbing under the sink. This would involve connecting the water supply and drainage to the existing plumbing, which is often more secure and practical than modifying tap fittings.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
