Last week hubby and I filled a blank wall in our kitchen by putting up some shelves made of beautiful recycled timber. I sanded the timber and stained it with some black paint diluted in water.
We also made the brackets for it using some angle steel, which we cut into sections and drilled holes into for the screws.
Pretty happy with how they turned out. 😄
They look brilliant. Congrats @prettyliving and many thanks for sharing.
I'm sure your great work will inspire many other Workshop community members.

@prettyliving WOW!! So simple and looks amazing, well-done! Any idea what species the timber was?
That craft paint came up better than what I would have thought.

@MitchellM Thanks! I’m pretty sure it’s pine.. but not 100%.
Ive found that acrylic paints work well for staining. 👌🏻
Awesome work, it’s amazing how adding just a few nice shelves can change the look of that space
can I ask what stain you used ? @prettyliving It’s a nice rustic brown
@LePallet Thanks so much 🙂 I used black acrylic paint & water, like a blackwash, affect for the stain 😊
Yeah nice, I will definitely give this a go. Thanks for sharing
