Pull out options for small cabinets that are otherwise unusable gave me the idea to utilise the space next to my fridge in this way.
Its really handy and tucks away nicely and seamlessly when not in use.
Made it with some pine, dowel, some screws, runners, paint and a spare handle.
Community manager's note: As this project has been incredibly popular with members, @MitchellMc has created a step-by-step guide with a full list of tools and materials so you can easily build your own. Check it out here - How to build a slimline spice rack.
I need someone to build a pull out shelf to fit in the gap between my fridge & the kitchen bench. The gap is 25cm from side of fridge to side of bench. And it would need to be no higher than 170cm tall.
Id love to get a list & quote for materials to build something suitable for my requirements. And if there might be someone at Bunnings North Launceston who could assist with it Thank you Jason for getting back to me.
Hi again @Maree1, thanks for clarifying. I think your approach of listing on Airtasker is a good one, as that site is focused on "do-it-for-me", whereas Workshop focuses on connecting people who are passionate about "do-it-yourself".
If you did want to tackle the build yourself, @DIYology mentioned in his first post that the project used pine, dowel, screws, runners, paint and a handle. If you made a list and a simple drawing of what you wanted to build, I'm sure one of the team at Bunnings North Launceston would be happy to assist you with finding the items you need.

Hi @yarrawarra
Firstly, I must apologise for my late reply. My wife and I had a baby and I have been absent from the site for too long.
Regarding this project: the most important part are the runners that are connected between the thicker slats, and the end panel of the kitchen. This holds the frame of the unit I have built upright. There are no wheels at the bottom. I’ve used 4 runners because I’m a hopeless over engineerer... they each hold up to 50kg’s.

Thanks @Stuardo !!

Hi @Maree1,
This was something I dreamed up and not able to be purchased off a shelf unfortunately.

Great work mate !!
Hi DIYology,
I was inspired by your pull out spice rack, so decided it was time I built mine..
Just plain and simple, but it works for me...
Looks great @Prof !!
