Dear Members,
I'm seeking your advice regarding our pantry cabinetry project.
We have soft-close cabinets and drawers, but the cabinet maker's quote for finger pull doors is quite expensive.
To reduce costs, I'm considering a push-to-open mechanism.I've found the 'Hafele K-Push Door Catch - 2 Pack' at Bunnings (https://www.bunnings.com.au/hafele-k-push-door-catch-2-pack_p0037966) and wonder if it would be suitable for this project.
My main concern is maintaining a uniform appearance with all cabinet doors aligned in the same plane. I'm worried that using these catches might cause some doors to protrude or retract slightly compared to their neighbors when opened or closed.
For reference, I'm sharing a video demonstrating the mechanism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DlwlwG3PQE
I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts on achieving seamless, smooth cabinet doors without handles, all aligned with each other.
Do you think the Hafele component mentioned above would be appropriate for this project?Additionally, does Bunnings offer installation services for these components for a fee?
Thank you for your insights.
Best regards,
MM
