I am not sure how this happened, but my kitchen faucet aerator was disconnected by someone in my family (by hand) I think they were trying to install a filter (don't ask) and realized they messed up, now it's my problem. Im trying to get this back together!! The faucet head is part of a pull-down sprayer, I wrapped some blue tape around the hose so I don't lose it going back up the faucet neck. I have been to a few retail plumbing shops with no luck. I have also tried other forums and have not gotten any responses. This project is killing me because it was 100% done by hand, and now I am stuck. I am trying to avoid purchasing a replacement faucet so any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mike.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mdeuce01. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing a tap sprayer.
I can't find a similar pullout sprayer to show you, but the issue is that you are missing the piece that screws onto the back of the sprayer. It should live on the braided hose and isn't something that can be easily removed. I would suggest that it probably needed to be forcibly taken off and was probably broken in the process. The hole in this nut section is smaller than the hose's tip. When you push the hose into the back of the sprayer, this nut section slides down the hose and screws into the sprayer, which compresses the rubber gasket and connects the hose to the sprayer. I can't see how you could reattach the hose without this fitting, and even if you had it, it likely needs to be slid on from the other end of the hose.
Unfortunately, I think you might be looking at a new mixer and we have a range of pull-out mixers to select from. You might also like to take advantage of our tapware installation service.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
