How to replace long kitchen sink without recutting benchtop?

Need some suggestions to replace a kitchen sink with something deeper for large family without having to recut the kitchen benchtop

Current sink is 155 cm length & width 47 cm. Can't seem to find anything that long on bunnings

Re: Need suggestions to replace long kitchen sink

Hello @vng

Thanks for sharing your question about replacing your long kitchen sink. I've had a thorough search and I'm afraid that this sink is just too big. Even the double bowl drainer sets that the store carries is only 1430mm. Another hindrance is the type of benchtop that you have, is it stone or timber laminate? If it is a stone top, I'm afraid you can only replace it with exactly the same sized sink.

However, if it is a timber laminated benchtop, you can insert a timber panel into the existing cut allowing you to insert a smaller sink. I've placed a sample image below to give you an idea of how it can be done. The best way to choose a sink would be to find out your existing cut out, you'll be able to tell straight away if the sink you've chosen will fit or fall through.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
