Hi
Yesterday 26/12/23
Red wine has been spilt on a recon stone top.Any suggestion on how to remove the stain
Appreciate any advise
Hi @Wazzabg
Red wine soaks into the pores of the stone so is hard to remove by srubbing.
I was thinking laundry detergents lay claim to using enzymes to de stain clothing I wonder if rubbing and possibly leaving atest patch of laundry detergent as a paste might help convert the stain.
Purely Experimental @Wazzabg try with great care
Thank u
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Wazzabg. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing stains.
Unfortunately, there's not much I can add to the discussion, as @Jewelleryrescue has mentioned a reconstituted stone will absorb the wine into the surface. Once it's in there, no amount of scrubbing will remove it, as it's no longer sitting on the surface. Perhaps you could contact a few benchtop repair professionals to see if there are any options.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
