How to protect a dining table from hot items?

I need help fixing the transparent PVC film/cover for my dining as it is being damaged from placing hot substances like a cup hot water, other hot meals. My dining table is rectangular one

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mpokhrelp. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about protecting a dining table.

We have clear double-sided mounting tape which you could use to hold the PVC film to your table top. I'd recommend at least one piece in each of the four corners, and you might like to add more, depending on the size of the tabletop. Ensure they table top is clean and dry before applying to tape.

If it's the PVC film itself that is being damage you might like to utilise a trivet.
