How to patch render on a brick wall around an opening?

Hi there!

Any advice would be appreciated!

We had a builder cut open a brick wall to create an opening in our house. The render surrounding the opening has come away and we need to patch this so we can apply archives. What would you suggest we use to patch this up? I've purchased this product already Dingo Mortar mix  https://www.bunnings.com.au/dingo-10kg-mortar-mix_p0760516?srsltid=AfmBOorJbb6CnDdSy0JngNueClzqnhzkD...

Is this what we should be using, or do you think there is something better or even premixed? Thanks any tips would be so helpful!

Thanks!

Re: How to patch render on a brick wall around an opening?

Hello @Lauren999

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about how to patch up your brick wall.

I suggest using Dingo 10KG Structural Mortar Repair Bag as it is designed for vertical application as well. Make sure to follow the mixing instructions as adding too much water will make the mix too slurry.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Render

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when working on your repair job.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
