Re: How to cover laminate benchtops

Hello @Tommy2024

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about covering your laminate benchtop.

One quick affordable way to renew your benchtop is to paint it using Dulux 1L Renovation Range Tiles & Benchtops Gloss White. This is a convenient method of renewal as it will not require you to take the sink apart or remove your cooktop.

The second method is to replace your laminate top with an affordable timber top such as Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Hevea Multi Use Panel. Depending on the current size and shape of your benchtop, the multi-use panel is a great affordable way to replace your benchtop. The timber top can then be stained and sealed with your preferred colour.

The third option of course is to replace it with a brand-new benchtop. But since you are not yet prepared for this expense, I propose holding off on any renovations until you have enough resources to replace it properly.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Paint A Kitchen Benchtop.
