Hi there,
I'm installing a small rangehood in my tiny house and am trying to work out how to do the vent. The pipe is 50mm and it will travel up through the steel wall framing and then vent through the roof which is Kahu colour steel. I am planning to get a rooftite flashing to seal the penetration, however I am struggling to find a suitable cowl for a 50mm pipe. Can you recommend one and are there any steps I'm missing? I saw that there is a Rain Harvesting 50mm Weatherproof Vent Cowl however I'm not sure if it's suitable?
Thank you so much for your help, you guys are getting me through this tiny house project!
Hi @Caitlin_,
Thank you for your question about installing a rangehood vent on your tiny home.
Unfortunately, using a PVC cowl on a rangehood vent is generally not advisable, and I am not aware of a ducting kit, or standalone cowl that is able to be used with a 50mm pipe.
You might have to reach out to the manufacturer of the rangehood for their advice as the majority of flues are either 100mm or 150mm so there doesn't seem to be compatible kits.
If you could advise the manufacturer and it is a Bunnings product, I would be happy to reach out to them for their advice.
Let me know what you think.
