Hello, Everyone
I need to install a socket outside my kitchen cabinet. There’s already a socket inside the cabinet. I want to drill a clean hole to pass the socket through.
Please provide a step-by-step guide along with the tools needed and any important considerations.
Merry xmas 🎄
Hi @Bellaaa
You will need a 50mm round chipboard hole saw and a strong cordless or corded drill. This will fit most extention cords plugs.

This will drill one or two holes before being blunt
Put some masking tape on the cupboard where you want to drill a hole it will help stop the drill skidding around.
Pick a spot you can use a drill in comfortably and the pilot drill will centre the hole saw so start gradual drilling push medium steady so the cupboard dosnt chip.
Make sure your not drilling into any plumbing or electricals inside the cupboard.
Hi @Bellaaa,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
@Jewelleryrescue's explanation of how to cut the hole in the cabinet is exactly what you should do and I'd suggest you follow his advice.
Let me know if there is anything else we can assist with.
