Hi community members, I need your help in suggestion for cleaning products to use the black color on kitchen benchtop next to sink. I have tried using dishwasher liquid to try and get rid of discoloration but that didn’t help . Could you suggest any solution for it ?
attached is photo highlighted next to sink where there is blackish shade and other where color is white
Hello @hmmm12
Thank you for sharing your question about your benchtop. Would you happen to know if you have a laminate or stone benchtop? If you have a laminate top, I'm afraid you can only use soft methods to clean the surface as harsh chemicals or rough scrubbers will peel the laminate surface and damage it even further.
I propose testing White Knight 500ml Tile And Laminate Cleaner in combination with Mr Clean Waffle Weave Microfibre Kitchen Cloths. I recommend using hot water to rinse the surface and use the microfibre to dry the benchtop.
If you have a stone top, I suggest testing Glitz 750ml Stone and Benchtop Cleaner along with the microfibre cloth. If the stain refuses to budge, I propose engaging the services of a stone restoration specialist. They will have the knowledge and experience to restore the finish of your stone top.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Evening @hmmm12
My thoughts are heading the same way I think @EricL 's are. The stain looks like a long term grease build up and I was thinking of warmth to help loosen the embedded oil. I though maybe a microfibre cloth or buchers paper plus a low setting on an iron. Tho prob hot water poured slowly over the stain bit by bit may work as well. A degreaser as in the type you use to clean the oven but not sure how that would go with the stone top.
Would be interested to know what you choose and if it works tho
