Using 900mm Kaboodle Tall Pantry Carcass with three metal sided drawers installed below. I will cut the top off the pantry carcass - just above the drawers. So the Tall Pantry carcass is now in two pieces. The bottom with metal sided drawers installed and the top by itself. I will then install a benchtop above the drawers and attach it to the bottom half of the pantry carcass. Then I will place the top of the pantry carcass onto the benchtop and secure it using cut to measure Panels either side. (These are instead of using Tall Pantry End Panels as they will be short the 20mm the benchtop had added). I want to then have cut to measure bifold doors above the drawers. One bifold door (two cut to measure panels) to the left and one bifold (two cut to measure panels) to the right. I have a few questions:
1. what width should each of the four cut to measure panels be if the width of the pantry is 900mm? 222mm each panel?
2. Hettich Folding Door System Wingline L has a minimum panel size to bifold of 250mm. Therefore does
anyone know a supplier that has a system that will fit my bifold doors?
3. If no system is available, has anyone installed pocket doors? If yes, can you please share with me? Thanks in advance.
Hello @Mish28
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your pantry nook.
Have you considered just cutting the benchtop to size and sliding it into the pantry so that there will be no need to cut the pantry in half. In regards to the size of your bifold doors, I suggest speaking to your local store's kitchen specialist they will help you in ordering custom door panels. The good news is that all you need to make the bifold doors work are Hafele Salice 165° Hinge Full Overlay Clip On in combination with Lane 75 x 47 x 1.6mm Zinc Plated Loose Pin DURAsmooth™ Non Mortice Hinge. These will be floating bifold doors with no need for rails.
Let me call on our experienced members @JoeAzza, @PeakyBlinder71 and @fhk56 for their recommendations.
