How to build a kitchen benchtop?
Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a Makita biscuit joiner.
What is the best and strongest glue to use when making a benchtop?
Do you have any videos on using biscuit joiners, making benchtops, finishing and sealing options?

Re: benchtop
Hi @Lee777,
The best glue for timber biscuits is PVA wood glue. Either this SikaBond® PVA Woodworking Glue or this Gorilla Wood Glue Ultimate are good options.
Unfortunately, we do not currently have any videos showing biscuit joiners in use, but I'm sure there are plenty on YouTube if you do a quick search. You might also like to check out this previous discussion which relates to your question - Dowel Jointer v Biscuit Joiner.
Some videos and articles that may also come in handy include -

There are plenty of choices for finishing and sealing benchtops, but it depends on the material used, the location of the benchtop and the aesthetic you are looking to achieve. You might like to have a look through the Wood Finishes - Oil, Stain, Varnish & Polish section of our website to see what you like. The Cabot's Product Finder tool is also handy.
If you have some specific details about your benchtop this would help me offer advice on finishing and sealing options. Once I have some details I will happily assist further.
Jacob
