Faucet aerator housing missing - how to determine right fit?

Hi there,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm in a pickle with our kitchen faucet, of which the aerator and housing is missing. I am having trouble determining which aerators and housings are compatible. I bought the fix-a-tap femaie aerator, but it seems to be too large in diameter as it doesn't connect with the threads on the faucet. I'm not sure how to determine what fits. I measured the diameter and I seem to be measuring a 20mm diameter. I'm wondering if the following product fits but reluctant to purchase it as I have no idea how to determine the right size. I also assume I can't return it after unpacking.

Thanks to anyone for chiming in

Hello @gveugen

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your aerator.

The EnduraSeal Chrome Female Multi-Function Swivel Aerator WELS 5 Star 6L/min appears to be the most promising replacement. It's hard to tell without using a vernier caliper. I can only suggest putting the aerator next to your kitchen spout to make sure that they are the same size before you open the packaging. If it appears promising, then you can do a test fit.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: Faucet aerator housing missing - how to determine right fit?

Hi @EricL,

Thank you for your reply and advice. I followed it, and found out it doesn't fit. The thread doesn't connect, and it seems that the diameter of the aerator is outright larger than the diameter of the faucet. Who knew that finding nozzles could be such a pain!?

Is the faucet not a standard size? I'm thinking I just replace the entire thing outright

Re: Faucet aerator housing missing - how to determine right fit?

Hello @gveugen

I'm so sorry it did not fit. However, the aerator can still be used in standard kitchen tap sizes which your current tap is obviously not. It is difficult to tell what type of tap it is as it has no brand or insignia. If you are unhappy with its performance, then I suggest replacing it with a new kitchen tap.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
