Our little 1950s 1 bed cottage out the back came with the original kitchen .. the concrete slab floor was cracked and the joinery well past its prime and the cupboards insides where all disintegrating.
My husband and I designed the kitchen to enhance the coastal vibe of the cottage. Flat packs and tiles were "encouraged" into the less than square areas!
We opted for shelves to look contemporary and clean but also help hide the odd measurements. Corrected the slab and added wood like porcelain floor tiles and some new appliances. Perfect now for our expanding next generations to come and have a seaside visit.
BTW we added a shower to the existing toilet also .
Hello @goofygaffney
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your wonderful kitchen cottage revamp.
Those colours you've chosen really fit into the coastal vibe look. You've done a great job with the new kitchen cabinets. The floor blends in neatly with the entire assembly. How long did it take to do the entire revamp? Aside from the uneven floor and walls did you run into any other difficulties?
Any other information you can share about your renovation would be highly appreciated.
We look forward to seeing your next project.
Eric
Thankyou Eric,
It took about a week, once all items were purchased and delivered. Selecting all the fixtures is more difficult these days as there is so much affordable choice and variety!! We also live on on a steep road and block so delivery and carrying heavy items up a step block had its challenges!
But we got there and arranged help when required.
Thanks
Brigid
