We moved in to our first home, a 70’s orange brick elevated house with great bones but horribly outdated. One of the first projects was updating the kitchen to get us through till we can replace it down the track. With a bit of research we chose the white knight tile range to paint the tiles and laminated cupboards- such a massive difference made over 1 weekend! Hoping to get some ideas and advice from the community with other projects as I go, thankyou in advance!
Hello @MsChezzyG
Welcome to Bunnings Workshop. This is a beautiful make over, excellent color choice for the doors! Fantastic paint job on the tiles, I suspect your next project will be painting the walls and window trims? That new floor is perfect and gives excellent contrast to your newly painted kitchen. It gives it such a modern feel to it, you would never suspect it's the same kitchen. I'm sure this will inspire a lot of our readers to give this a go. thank you for sharing your diy journey here on workshop. We look forward to your future projects!
Cheers,
Red

Thankyou! Yes we have since painted the walls grey with white trim, it all ties in great with the original tassie oak boards :).
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MsChezzyG. It's fantastic that you've joined us, and many thanks for sharing your project.
What a stunning transformation! However, you might have backed yourself into a bit of a corner as you'd need to replace this kitchen with something truly magnificent to achieve a better result. By painting and frosting the glass on that wall cabinetry, you've really modernised it. It looks like it's straight out of the Kaboodle catalogue. You've changed my perspective on cabinetry like this, as my first instinct has always been it's just too out of style to be used and should be removed straight away. How did you do the frosting?
Congratulations on an amazing reno. I trust you're as impressed with the results as we are.
Well done.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell, Thankyou for the positive comments! I frosted the back of the glass panels using some left over window frosting vinyl I had from my signage business, I’m really happy With the overall look now
Your kitchen looks amazing! So inspiring.
I wonder if you could share information on the paint colour? I have searched for viking blue but am unable to find it for some reason...
Hello @Aadhull
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Thank you for joining the discussion and sharing your question about the kitchens Viking Blue colour.
Let me tag @MsChezzyG so that they are made aware of your kind comments. The colour you are looking at is a tinted colour and is not available as a default colour by itself. I suggest visiting your local store and speaking to the paint specialist and asking about using Viking Blue on your kitchen doors. Are you planning on a kitchen remodelling project? Please don't hesitate to post any questions you might have about your project. Our ever-helpful members are more than happy to provide advice and information.

Hi @Aadhull,
Thank you for the positive feedback, we are really happy with our colour choices, especially Viking blue in contrast with our pale grey walls and white trim. I did get the white knight paint tinted at the paint desk as @Eriic mentioned, our kitchen window is north facing with a lot of sunlight all day, something to keep in mind when choosing a dark colour like this. All the best with your kitchen!
