transplanted frangipani

Hi I recently planted several frangipani cuttings. They have all been growing quite well. However when I took one of the cuttings out of its pot to put it in a bigger pot there were no roots on it. What could’ve happened

It sounds like your frangipani cutting is focusing its energy on surviving and establishing itself rather than developing roots just yet. Frangipanis can be slow to root, especially if the conditions aren't quite right. This can happen if the cutting was watered too much, as excess moisture can cause rot or delay root development. It’s also possible the potting mix isn’t ideal; frangipanis prefer a free-draining mix. 

I recommend using a mix like Yates 2.5L Specialty Potting Mix Cacti & Succulents, which is available at Bunnings and is perfect for encouraging root growth without holding too much water. When re-potting, let the base of the cutting dry out for a couple of days to heal over before planting it again. Once re-planted, water sparingly and ensure the pot is in a warm, sunny spot. With a bit of patience, your cutting should develop roots in time!

Thank you EricL for your reply. I have already repotted it in a mix of sand and potting mix. Should I take it out and leave it as you have suggested.

If you've already repotted it, I suggest leaving it so as not to stress the frangipani further. Just observe it for the next few weeks and don't over water it.
