I cannot get a gardener to come and trim it and frankly I’m over it. I just want it gone. So what product do I buy and how do I go about poisoning this monster
Hello @eaglejane
If you want to severely control or kill the hedge, I suggest using a Hedge trimmer to remove the overgrowth to give you access to the hedge trunk. Once all the branches have been trimmed back, you now have access to the main trunk of the hedge. I recommend using a chainsaw to cut the main trunk of the hedge. You should now be left with the hedge stumps coming out of the ground, I suggest having a look at our best advice - How do you stop a tree stump regrowing? The elimination technique can be used on the hedge stumps as well.
Let me call on our experienced members @Noelle and @mich1972 for their recommendations on how to eliminate your hedge.

Agreed @EricL Great advice given. I’m sure the hedge looks great when it’s been pruned regularly but it is a shame if it can’t be done.
