Hi there, so recently I have noticed weeds in my grass I haven’t ever noticed before. Can someone please tell me what’s happening? Why all of a sudden are they appearing and how do I get rid of them completely? I mow my lawns very regularly and water them all the time too.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @davo2102. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about lawn weeds.
It looks like you’re dealing with bindii, which is common during this time of year. The spiky seeds you’re seeing are a clear indicator of this weed. Bindii seeds can spread through the wind or be carried by animals, especially if they get caught in fur or on shoes.
To get rid of them, I recommend using Yates 250ml BuffaloPro Selective Bindii and Broadleaf Weed Killer Concentrate. This product is specifically designed for controlling bindii and other broadleaf weeds in lawns, including buffalo grass. It’s selective, meaning it targets weeds without harming your grass, so it's safe to use on most types of lawns. Be sure to follow the instructions for the best results and reapply if necessary to keep the weeds under control.
Regular lawn care, including mowing and watering, will also help keep the weeds at bay over time.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
