I have an Ozito 18v lawnmower which has been amazing until today. It’s now chewing the grass and digging up small clumps of grass leaving holes in my lawn. Can you tell me if this is because the blades need sharpening? Tends to labour as it mows as well.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @geegee8. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about mowers.
It sounds like something else might be going on besides just dull blades. Have you checked the blade assembly? Ensure the battery is removed before doing so. A good indicator that the blades are dull is if the mower struggles on thick patches of grass and doesn’t cleanly cut, leaving a frayed or torn look instead. However, even with extremely blunt blades, the mower shouldn't be ripping chunks out of the ground. If it's still under warranty, you might like to take it to your nearest Bunnings store so our team can assess it and help troubleshoot the issue.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
