Re: how do i fix leaking garden watering system

Hello @sarah71

Thanks for sharing your question about your leaking watering system.  It looks like the leak is coming from the connection between the garden hose and the black irrigation tubing. Here are some steps you can try in order to fix it:

  • Tighten the Connection – First, try twisting the fitting to see if it's just a loose connection. If it's a screw-on type, make sure it's fully tightened.

  • Check for Cracks or Damage – Inspect the fitting and tubing for cracks or wear. If the fitting is damaged, replacing it with a new one from the store should solve the issue.

  • Use a Hose Clamp – If the connection isn’t sealing properly, adding a small hose clamp around the black tubing where it meets the fitting can help secure it more tightly.

  • Re-cut and Reconnect the Tubing – If the black tubing is stretched or misshapen, cut off the damaged section with a sharp pair of secateurs and reconnect it to the fitting for a better seal.

  • Use Teflon Tape – If the fitting has a threaded connection, wrapping some plumber’s (Teflon) tape around the threads before screwing it back together can help prevent leaks.

  • Replace the Fitting – If none of the above fix's work, the fitting itself may be faulty or not the right size. Try swapping it for a new one that matches your hose and irrigation tubing diameter.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
