Hi all, pretty simple question. I visited my local Bunnings and saw that they did not have much variety of pond plants. Is there a time where most Bunnings get more pond plants? I like the bacopa monnieri and rotala rontundifola but they dont seem to be in stock.
Hello @ZenZhou
I've had a look at some of the stores and you are correct, I'm afraid none of them have it in stock. I'm not sure if these plants can still be ordered into the store, please allow us to investigate. As soon as we have more information, we'll get back to you.
Can you please tell us what is the closest store to your location?
Here is a handy guide regarding aquatic plants: How to grow aquatic plants.
Thank you for your patience

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the speedy reply, my closest store is Oakleigh 3167. Thanks for the link on the plants, i also had another question, most plants need to be repotted i think right? what kind of soil mix would i use? and do you have any capping substrate suggestions (like any types of gravel). I also saw that some people had these floating rings for some plants, i cant seem to find them on the website though!

Hello @ZenZhou
Thank you for your patience. I've spoken to the gardening specialist at the store and the bacopa monnieri and rotala rontundifola can be ordered in but the rotala only comes in a dwarf species. Our gardening specialist at the Oakleigh store Sarah will be getting some in and should arrive next Tuesday. In regards to replanting, it's recommended to use aquarium soil for best results if being used underwater. I'm sorry but the store currently does not stock floating rings for aquatic plants.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thanks so much for all your help, i will be in tuesday or wednesday to grab some plants hopefully. Do you know if i could buy the floating rings online or at another store? When you say aqarium soil, does bunnings have one? or is it like aquasoil?
From, Zen
Hi @ZenZhou
My apologies, but I'm currently unaware of where to source the floating rings. The aquarium soils are generally like pebbles an alternative to it are fine pebbles such as the Tuscan Path 4-6mm 5kg Natural Mixed Decorative Pebbles.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
