Re: What low maintenance plants for a Brisbane garden bed?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Riitta. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about selecting plants.
Do you have any preferences regarding the types of plants? Were you looking for colour or just low maintenance?
For a low-maintenance garden bed, Agapanthus is a resilient choice with beautiful blue or white flowers that require little watering once established. Lomandra, a native grass, would be nice and tolerates drought and poor soil conditions. Dianella, also known as flax lily, offers small blue flowers and berries, making it a great option for filling space with minimal effort.
Native plants, like Grevillea, are both drought-tolerant and wildlife-friendly, especially for attracting birds. Kangaroo Paw would be another option that adds unique flowers and requires little water.
If you enjoy fragrant plants, lavender would be a great option which would add a pleasant scent to your garden.
Finally, succulents like Crassula, Sedum, and Aloe are perfect for very low-maintenance gardening, as they need minimal watering and are well-suited to Brisbane's climate.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
