Our borders have white pebbles and the weeds are taking over. I want to get rid of these pebbles and start again. Anyone have any tips on the easiest way to move the pebbles and what I can do with them once they're off the flower beds?

A small rake is pretty good for stones - I moved a giant bed full of weedy scoria - which we then winnowed, by tossing scoopfuls in plastic garbage bin lids on a windy day. Which enabled us to use the scoria elsewhere. The pebbles make a great admixture for potted plants that need extra drainage, and also a good topdressing for the same pots. There's mosaic pebble art and all sorts... depends how much you've got.
A rake enables you to leave more soil behind than a shovel, and is a bit more manoeuvrable around wanted plants.
Thank you
