Vegetables for planting in autumn and winter?

Hi everyone,

I live in a apartment and have got a small garden area (= multiple pots) on my west facing baloncy. While I've got herbs out there at present, I'd really like to do something more adventurous and fire up some vegetables in autumn and winter.

Are there any vegetables that the community can recommend would be good in limited space in colder months?

(FYI - I am based on Sydney so it's not toooo cold)

I love growing lots of leafy Greens. Perfect for container growing. 

And you are definitely right about how expensive veggies and fruits are at the moment @Jason The satisfaction you get growing your own. 😊
