This season I have planted cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, kale, celery, silver beet, peas, carrots, leek, onions (red, white, brown), garlic, and many herbs, fennel, parsleys, dill, coriander, etc. I also have a lovely warm north facing long narrow bed with dark brick background that seems to grow salad vegetables all year round that has lettuces, tomatoes, radish and a couple of herbs at present. There are a few self sown plants scattered through the garden too, such as broad beans, potatoes (mostly in their own bed & under the fruit trees), coriander and a pesky borage that keeps trying to take over. Hope I’ve remembered them all.
Brilliant @hoppi65, sounds like an amazing garden. Where are you based?
It's fantastic to have you join the community. It sounds like you have lots of great experience to share. I trust you will also get loads of inspiration and helpful advice from the rest of the community, too.

Wow, great job. Do you grow mostly from seed or seedlings @hoppi65?
Thank you for your comments.
Actually, I’m a real newby to vegetable growing, as it is only my second planting season. All attempted because I moved and am now semi retired. The raised beds enable me to garden from my wheelchair, and were only constructed last year. I was blown away by success last year, as were my neighbours when the vegetables matured and excess given away. Didn’t plant for last summer as too busy and reticulation not complete. Summer winds strip water out of our soils, and my small rain water tanks insufficient for purpose.
I joined this group to learn more from others, particularly about growing from seed, as growing from seedlings often means too many of each vegetable ready to eat at one time. I was thinking to plant fewer of some varieties, spaced apart for economy of edible produce. I’m not sure if on the right track, but 8 cauliflower, 8 broccoli & 8 cabbages ready to eat all at the same time seems excessive.
Well done @hoppi65.
Do give growing from seed a try as it's very easy if you use something like this - https://www.bunnings.com.au/jiffy-36-peat-pellet-greenhouse_p2961320
You might also like to trade vegetables with friends and family if you get too many at the same time.
Love the table... Where did you find the pattern and how to make it... I am a newly to DIY projects

Hi @Jenn,
Welcome to Workshop and thanks for joining in the discussion. I suspect you might have posted your comment on the wrong discussion as there's no table here. Could you perhaps try again or clarify what table you were referring to?
Please let me know if you ever need a hand getting the most from the site. We look forward to reading all about your projects and plans. I'm sure the Workshop community will be happy to provide plenty of help and inspiration along the way.

They look amazing!
Couple of questions if I may:
1. What soil/mix is in the beds?
2. How do you stop the pests devouring the produce?
Thx
