I have found another way of making wheels with the min number of saw cuts. Set the compound saw at 22.5 degrees, and over at say 45. The 22.5 needs to be correct, but by turning the wood over after each cut, any error is negated. The wood that’s comes in short lengths at the Bunnings store are handy.
To show how well matched the join is, and screw together from the sides. Of course the spokes are attached by screws from the outside. They are recessed into the wood.
The hubs are from the discarded section.
Two pallets for the body.
Cut to form a base, just past the second ridge.
Cut axle holders.
What’s left over. From this, the ends and a seat for the driver.
In the front garden, ready for pot plants.
Reminds me of Birdsmouth Jointing. That has a 22.2mm thickness limit though without extra work.
Fantastic @Jamespeter100, many thanks for sharing.
I'm sure your creations will continue to inspire many Workshop members and visitors alike.
Love your work.
