Re: how to transform & IDEAS

Hi @simonelouise,

There are plenty of wonderful ways to transform this space, but many of those depend on what you want to achieve within this area. Perhaps you might like to start by letting our helpful members know what direction you'd like to take. Then, they would be much better placed to offer helpful suggestions on how you could achieve that look.

Given that the area is sloped and on soil, it makes it suited to planting and landscaping, so you might consider focusing on creating a beautiful garden oasis. You could introduce a variety of plants, including potted plants, hanging baskets, and vertical gardens, to add greenery and vibrancy. Incorporating water features like small fountains or ponds can add a calming element and attract wildlife. If there is access to the area adding pathways using materials like pebbles, stepping stones, or wooden planks can help navigate the slope and create a more structured look. You might also consider building terraced garden beds to manage the slope and make planting easier. Adding some garden art can add a personal touch and focal points throughout the space.

We look forward to hearing more about your project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Re: how to transform & IDEAS

Morning everyone!
I will like to start focusing on the backdrop such as my fencing and the wood that’s under the fence thinking of removing?
I don’t want to much happening here as I will like to start with outside first where the fencing is clearing that and making nice backdrop  the soil that I have now it’s dark soil.

i am just looking at something simple

where do I start I really would like everyone advice and ideas would be GREAT!!! Thanks

Re: how to transform & IDEAS

What's behind the wood @simonelouise? Is it covering a large gap? If so you might like to install a small retaining wall to hide the area and prevent erosion. Here' a helpful step-by-step guide: How to build a retaining wall.

Once you have the gap sorted, you can work on improving the appearance of the fence. By concreting in some posts in front of the fence, say every 1500mm, you'll be able to attach horizontal timber to which you can affix screening panels. This would give you a lovely backdrop for any landscaping you wish to complete in front of the screening.

A more simplified version of this would be to just attach screen fencing right across the fence, which would hide the timber underneath it. You can attach the screening to the Colorbond fence uprights.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
